Collection: The Box (4)​

A British pop group formed in the early 1980s by [a134818 (vocals, guitar) and [a500636 (saxophone), together with [a570633 (keyboards), [a915869 (bass guitar), and [a915870 (drums). Initially names [bHarlequins[/b, the band eventually adopted the name [bRed Box[/b, under which they released their debut single, [url=https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=dv-P7jWbY74"Chenko"[/url in 1983. Shortly thereafter, the band shrunk to a duo and adopted a more synthpop style. In August 1985 the duo had their first UK top 10 hits with the anthemic [url=https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=kTyFUbgSvL8"Lean On Me (Ah-Li-Ayo)"[/url, followed in 1986 by an ambitious album [m=108892 on which the duo's sound was augmented by a small army of guest musicians, and from which was lifted a second hit [url=https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=p_f0VGYW6Ns"For America"[/url. Put out of action for a while by contractual disputes, Red Box finally reactive in 1989, with Close replaced by Alastair Gavin. The second album [m=244021 suffered from a lack of promotion and Red Box officially "retired" soon after.
The band returned to the scene in 2010 with their third album, [m=292316, released in October 11, 2010. The group is currently led by singer-songwriter Simon Toulson-Clarke and features a third line-up of backing musicians. Red Box promoted Plenty with live performances, especially in Poland, where the songs [url=https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=AZuAv77bXmY"The Sign"[/url and "Hurricane" achieved number one status on the [url=https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lista_przebojów_Programu_TrzeciegoLista Przebojów Trójki[/url charts (5 weeks and 4 weeks respectively).
